Putnam Veterans to Rally for Romney
County Sheriff Donald B. Smith is listed as the contact.

Community members and area officials backing Republican candidate Mitt Romney in the upcoming presidential election plan to show their support in Carmel Thursday night.
Local veterans are hosting the gathering. A Facebook event shows 15 people have confirmed their attendance, and another 16 say they may show. The digital invite, which lists Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith as the contact, went out to more than 450 people.
"The veterans are deeply concerned that the United States of America is moving in the wrong direction economically, militarily and diplomatically and is not supporting a foreign policy of Peace Through Strength," the online statement reads. "These veterans who have served in the armed forces of the United States strongly believe it is time for them to speak out and express their concern for the direction in which the country is headed."
