Rolling Traffic Slowdowns Wednesday Night On I-684

Westchester and Putnam County motorists — and Connecticut drivers too — should expect five rolling traffic slowdowns along Interstate 684 between 8 p.m. Wednesday night and 1 a.m. Thursday.

Crews will be doing overhead utility cable work, weather permitting, between Exit 6 (Route 35) and Exit 9 (Interstate 84), in the towns of Bedford, Lewisboro, North Salem and Southeast.

The work will affect northbound and southbound traffic.

Anticipate delays and plan accordingly.

Remember to Move Over a lane, if safely possible, or slow down significantly whenever encountering roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights, including maintenance and construction vehicles in work zones.

Drive responsibly in work zones. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
