Seasonable Weekend Before Next Deep Freeze: Brewster's Weather

We've got the weekend to prepare for the polar vortex, which is headed south.

SOUTHEAST, NY — Temperatures will be seasonably cold over the weekend, which means above freezing in the daytime and below at night. Temps on Sunday may even rise to 40 degrees.

That's not all good.

"These extreme freeze/thaw/refreeze cycles will also start opening up some big potholes over the next few days, be cautious," said Alex Marra and Bill Potter on the Hudson Valley Weather Facebook page.

And here's a sneak peek at the work week, when temps are predicted to plunge again from the teens to below zero:

"The next widespread threat for snow and slippery travel across the eastern United States is taking shape for around Tuesday," said Kristina Pydynowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist. "An Arctic cold front is projected to sweep across the eastern U.S. during the first half of next week as the polar vortex plunges southward."
