PUTNAM COUNTY, NY — As part of the 2021 Feeding Our Neighbors campaign, ShopRite presented Msgr. Kevin Sullivan, executive director of Catholic Charities of New York, with a check for $65,951 on Monday at its store in Carmel.

In all, 27 of ShopRite’s Hudson Valley stores participated in the yearly food drive to replenish food pantries across the Archdiocese of New York, a campaign which holds added significance this year with the pandemic increasing food insecurity across the state, company officials said.

This is ShopRite’s seventh year participating in the Feeding Our Neighbors campaign, and the company has raised $565,771 dollars over the years through both cash register donations from customers and the annual corporate donation, officials said. These fundraising efforts benefit pantries throughout the Archdiocese of New York, including in Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, and Westchester counties.
