Thunderstorm Threatens Orange, Putnam Counties: NWS

A strong thunderstorm was located over Middletown moving east. It will affect northern Orange County and western Putnam County, says the National Weather Service.

At 455 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Howells, or near Middletown, moving east at 40 mph, the NWS reported.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm.

  • Middletown around 500 PM EDT.
  • Walden and Montgomery around 515 PM EDT.
  • Gardnertown around 525 PM EDT.
  • Newburgh and West Point around 530 PM EDT.

  • Fahnestock State Park around 545 PM EDT.
