SOUTHEAST, NY — Reservations have been going fast for a fantastic dining experience in Putnam County that began just a week ago.

The folks running Tilly's Table found a fun way for diners to stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy being outside: Dining Under The Stars in their new "Snow Globes."

"It's really cool, it's a great experience," said Al Ciuffetelli, owner of Homestyle Caterers which operates the restaurant. "People want to dine under the stars and it's just a nice night out."

Ciuffetelli saw these transparent, heated plastic domes in Larchmont and promptly bought three. "We have others on back order," he told Patch. "Ever since we advertised them we've been sold out."

People are now booking reservations in the domes out into May, he said. Diners are limited to 75 minutes, and then the staff cleans the Snow Globe thoroughly before the next customers come in.

The domes have adjustable heat and adjustable lanterns. "It's so beautiful. it's so relaxing, even if it's cold outside," he said.

While the restaurateur thought of the domes as a way for diners to have a special experience and feel secure during the pandemic, they don't intend to stop post-pandemic.

"Next year we're hoping to have a lot more and put them out on the front lawn," Ciuffetelli said. "Specially when it's snowing it's a beautiful night out."
