Celebrate Chinese New Year At The Sunset Park Library
The Chinese New Year celebration will take place at the library on the afternoon of Feb. 3.
SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — The Sunset Park Library will host a celebration of Chinese New Year on Friday, Feb. 3 put on by New York arts group Chinese Theater Works. The event will start at 4 p.m., and will take place in the library, located at 5108 4th Ave.
According to a description of the event provided by the Brooklyn Public Library, guests will be able to enjoy "Chinese traditional music" performed on a "guzheng," a 21-string instrument, along with excerpts from famous Chinese operas like "Peony Pavilion" and "Monkey King." You'll also be able to learn the "Ribbon Dance" and the "Lion Dance." Both Mandarin and English will be spoken at the gathering.
