City Seeks Developer To Build Sunset Park Film Studio
The city hopes to transform two waterfront warehouses into a Made in New York production studio.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — Lights, camera, bid proposal.
The City is looking for the developer who can transform a 200,000-square-foot lot on Sunset Park’s Bush Terminal into a film studio, officials announced Wednesday.
Mayor Bill de Blasio first pitched his concept to transform two waterfront warehouses into a $136 million Made in New York media production campus, in February, 2017.

The project got the green light and now officials are accepting proposals to build a campus for film and television production fitted with sound stages, video and photo shoot studios and augmented and virtual reality technology.
Campus proposals are due by Nov. 2 and an information session and tour of Bush Terminal will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 15.

The city estimates the space would support 1,500 media professionals and bring 500 jobs to Sunset Park.
