City paramedics responded to the school both days, according to protocol. However, most of the students were transported home by their parents, according to the NYC Department of Education (DOE).

The DOE said it was investigating the incident along with the city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. A spokesperson for the DOE said the kids' symptoms were consistent with a stomach flu, and that the school will be thoroughly disinfected as a precaution.

The FDNY said a hazmat unit on scene did not detect any abnormal readings.
