Industry City's Summer Line-Up: Concerts, Roller Disco And More

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — From roller disco, to outdoor concerts to a weekend spent learning how to make glass, Industry City will have no shortage of summer events the next few months to fill up the season.

The indoor-outdoor complex, which already offers a food hall, an arcade, mini-golf and five acres of open space every day of the year, has announced a long list of summer events that will start as early as this weekend.

Here's a rundown of what to check out:

• NYCxDESIGN design festival — May 16 through May 20 sign up for hands-on workshops, seminars or visit shows about everything from glass-making, to stone cutting, how to grow a mushroom lamp or the traditional Japanese art of Shibori. Check out the full list of exhibits here.

• Courtyard Concert Series – An ongoing concert series, most Thursdays through Sundays in June through September, in partnership with City Farm Presents. A full lineup of performers and dance parties can be found here.

• Rooftop Films – Back for the fifth year, Rooftop Films is offering courtyard screenings of new independent films all summer long. Stay tuned for screening dates.

• Jazz + Picnics – Every second Saturday in the late afternoon from June through September, there will be live jazz in Courtyard 3/4. Sahadi’s (opening in June) will offer cheese plates and picnic baskets with lite bites, plus guests can snag a bottle from Moore Brothers Wine Company.

• Summer Sundays Outdoor Workout + Brunch – A yoga class in Courtyard 5/6 or a rotating higher intensity fitness class in Courtyard 1/2, both outdoors, will be held before brunch at Sahadi’s or Japan Village.

• Salsa Sundays – Salsa Sundays, in partnership with Willie Villegas of Salsa en la Calle, will be held in Courtyard 1/2 from 12 to 6 p.m. Starting June 9, additional concerts will be held on June 23, July 7, July 21, August 4, August 18, September 8, and September 22.

• Domino Tournament – In tandem with Salsa Sundays, IC will host its third annual Domino tournament. Tournament date TBA.

• IC Brewers & Distillers – With programming Friday evenings ranging from live music with Fodera Guitars at Big Alice Brewing every first Friday, to Burlesque shows, Drag Queen Bingo, and more within Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur, The Frying Pan, and Brooklyn Kura.

• Dreamland Roller Disco – The Roller Disco will be back mid-summer 2019, keep updated on the new schedule here.

• The Frying Pan Comedy – The indoor-outdoor bar and game room will host ongoing programs including comedy shows, tastings, live music, and more on Friday nights. Additionally, guests can enjoy half-off entry to the arcade.

• The Rock & Roll Playhouse – An outdoor, kid-centric concert series providing families a place to inspire creativity through music. Families can check out the lineup here.
