Location Change for Monthly Meeting of Sunset Park Community Board
The BQX, new neighborhood school construction, and immigration policy are on the agenda.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — Community Board 7, which represents Sunset Park, will host its monthly community board meeting at a different location this December.
The board will meet at the Sunset Park Material Recovery Facility run by Sims Municipal Recycling, located at 472 2nd Ave. (cars can enter on 2nd Avenue & 29th Street). The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

- Approval of liquor licenses for Nautical Empress, located at 140 58th St.; El Tahur Bar and Restaurant Corp., located at 4402-4404 3rd Ave.; and Los Tres Potrillos Restaurant Bar Inc., located at 1004 4th Ave. (past Patch coverage of the controversy surrounding Los Tres Potrillos is here).
- A vote on the board's response to the School Construction Authority's October letter informing the community about sites being considered for new schools, as well as the board's general approach to school overcrowding going forward.
- A discussion of the Fifth Avenue Committee and Brooklyn Public Library's joint plan to replace the current Sunset Park Library with a new library inside an affordable housing building.
- A discussion of the immigration committee's resolution concerning immigration policy generally, and New York's status as a "sanctuary city" for undocumented residents.
- Discussion of the city's proposed Brooklyn Queens Connector street car (which remains the subject of heated local debate), and a vote on a proposed speed hump on 41st Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue.
