Mexican Independence Day Parade In Sunset Park: Here Are Details
The festivities are set to begin a week early this year in Sunset Park.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — The actual holiday may still be more than a week away, but Sunset Park is celebrating Mexican Independence Day a week early with a local parade and festival Sept. 9.
Here’s what you need to know.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m., the parade will march its way up Fifth Avenue from 59th Street to 44th Street, ending at the Sunset Park Recreational Complex, where the festivities will commence at 1:30 p.m.

If you’re into the arts, there’s plenty to see at this festival.
Check out live musical performances, dancers, artists, folk ballet, Mariachi, sports and tons of activities at this celebration of Hispanic culture, organized for the first time with help from local arts advocacy group “La últimata página.”

Mexican Independence Day is actually on Sunday, Sept. 16, though the Sunset Park street fair is on the 9th.
