New 6-Story Hotel Planned for Sunset Park
A luxury hotel could be opening at 3rd Avenue and 58th Street, come 2018.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — A new hotel is in the works at 267 58th St., a currently vacant lot in Sunset Park, as first reported by New York Yimby.
According to a Nov. 30 filing made with the city's Department of Buildings (DOB), the property is owned by Chao Yuan.
On Monday, a man who answered the city's listed phone number for Yuan said the hotel would be "luxury," but that he hadn't decided if it would be part of a chain. (Although his answer was difficult to understand, due to a language barrier.)

He also said the hotel likely wouldn't open until 2018, and said Patch should check back with him in three to six months.
According to the DOB filing, the six-story building will stand 60 feet high and take up 9,020 square feet of total space, of which 5,989 square feet will be commercial space — the hotel's 16 rooms, according to YIMBY — while 3,031 square feet will be used for a community space.
