NYPD Twitter Selfies Help Reunite Lost Dog Found In Sunset Park
The pup went on patrol, using his "tactical 'rub my belly' posture" to help out officers.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — NYPD officers in Sunset Park used some selfies over Twitter to successfully reunite a lost dog with its owners last week.
Two officers with the 72nd Precinct found the "lost good boy" when patrolling the streets last weekend and had NYPD News' Twitter profile upload their photo online. The owners saw the Tweet and reached out to the squad that same day, the 72nd Precinct told a Twitter user.
"Shortly after, owner and dog were reunited!" the precinct Tweeted.

The lost pup seemed perfectly happy during his trip away from home, though.

The officers let the dog join their squad for the rest of their patrols until they found the owner, joking that the precinct should expand its ride-along program.

"He fit right into the team, giving them a hand as they patrolled the streets of Brooklyn," NYPD joked in the Tweet. "Notice his tactical “rub my belly” posture."
The story "melted the hearts" of other Twitter users, who told the precinct they were happy to see the officers adopt the dog until he could be brought back home.
"What a sweet dog!! Glad the officers found him and made him part of their team!" one user wrote.
"It's not easy for a little punster like that out on the streets of Brooklyn!" another chimed in.
Keep that good boy !!
