NYU Lutheran Getting New In-Home Care Provider

Community Care Organization will soon be no more for in-home care in Brooklyn.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — NYU Lutheran is switching its providers of in-home health care at the end of August.

Community Care Organization, the nonprofit that currently handles those duties, will close on August 31. It will be replaced by VIP Health Care Services.

While that change will affect 262 employees, NYU said they will all be offered the chance to switch over to the new provider and care for their same patients who choose to switch as well.

"The good news is that we have been working with a highly regarded home health care provider—VIP Health Care Services—to transition our employees, who will be available to take over the care of patients who choose VIP Health Care Services as their provider," Bret J. Rudy, MD, the executive hospital director and senior vice president, NYU Lutheran Medical Center, said in a statement emailed to Patch.

"All current CCO employees will be offered the opportunity to work for VIP and to continue to care for their patients through the new company," Rudy said. "We are very pleased with this outcome as it is a win-win for our employees and the patients."
