Person Hit By Train In Sunset Park Station, MTA Says
A straphanger was struck by a train at the 53rd Street station Friday morning, according to the MTA.
SUNSET PARK — A person was hit by a train in Brooklyn during Friday morning rush hour, officials said.
A train struck the person at the 53rd Street R train station on Fourth Avenue in Sunset Park just before 8:30 a.m., said the MTA and FDNY.
Medics rushed the person, who suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, to Lutheran Hospital, the FDNY said.

Transit officials turned off the third-rail as medics responded, causing reroutes and delays.
R service was suspended between 36th Street and 95th Street in Brooklyn and southbound R trains ended at Ninth Avenue on the D line, said the MTA.

Southbound N trains ran on the D line from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.
