SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — A turkey wandering on the subway tracks Thursday morning had trains moving slowly around Sunset Park, MTA officials said.

The lone bird was spotted just after 8:30 a.m. on the tracks of the N train at the Eighth Avenue station, which is found by 62nd Street, according to Twitter users and the Citizen App.

Transit officials seemed unfazed by the fowl's morning walk, but said they did tell train operators to slow down to make sure it wouldn't get hit.

"While Thanksgiving is still a few months away and this turkey is trying to escape the borough of Brooklyn, trains in the area were cautioned to operate at a safe and slow speed because of this turkey," the MTA said in response to a Twitter user around 9 a.m.

The Twitter user, aptly named "DigitalHen" asked it the turkey is okay, to which the MTA said they didn't have any updates yet.

"Maybe his owner found him, put him in a turkey kennel and left the station," the transit officials said.
