South Brooklyn Affordable Housing Group Hiring New Top Staffer
The Fifth Avenue Committee is looking for a new Organizing and Advocacy Director, the group announced.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — The Fifth Avenue Committee (FAC), a Gowanus-based non-profit that develops and manages affordable housing in South Brooklyn, is hiring a new Organizing and Advocacy Director according to a job post announcing the position.
The director will provide "direction and oversight to FAC and its affiliates' community organizing and advocacy efforts," according to the post, and will be "responsible for supervising staff, interns and volunteers offering eviction prevention and tenant organizing and advocacy services."
Additionally, FAC says the future staffer will create and head up campaigns, such as those focused on "accountable and equitable public policy."

According to FAC, the group "has developed more than 600 units of affordable housing for low and moderate-income families in over 100 buildings," as well as working on $300 million worth of community improvement projects and managing homes for 400 families in South Brooklyn.
