SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — Two local spots only a few blocks from each other have landed on a list of the best "cheap eats" in the city.

King's Kitchen on Eighth Avenue made it onto the Eater list, which is put together by food critic Robert Sietsema, for the first time this year. The Hong Kong eatery joined another Sunset Park spot, Karen Deli on Fifth Avenue, that had already been on the round-up of 40 low-priced New York City favorites.

The list is meant to bring some cheap alternatives in the city dining scene to light, along with some menu recommendations from Sietsema himself, Eater said.

"As restaurant prices in New York City continue to soar, finding great inexpensive places becomes more of a priority — and if the food is not only delicious but also outside a diner’s previous experience, all the better," the list says.

Here's what they had to say about Sunset Park's spots:

King's Kitchen

"Called bo zai fan, the clay pot rice cookery of Hong Kong is showcased at this mini-chain of Chinese restaurants. Have your rice steamed with frog, yellow eel, or pig knuckle, bathed in thick sweet soy sauce. Rice noodle rolls, congee, and noodles in soups and stir fries are other specialties. Indeed, this place could serve as your favorite dim sum spot in Sunset Park, offering many key dim sum dishes late into the night."

Karen Deli

"Tightly packed shelves of Guatemalan groceries, including lots of fresh produce, make getting to the back of the place difficult, but when you get there you’ll discover a bustling kitchen and a dining room decorated with a colorful mural. One “don’t-miss dish” is pacayas forratas. Looking like a cross between an ear of corn and a squid, they are the flowers of a date palm. Another great dish is hilacha de res, potato-bearing beef stew that will make you very happy with its scarlet mellowness. Then there are Guatemalan tamales, cauliflower scrambled with eggs, and hand-patted masa picaditas."
