Syracuse Shooting Injures 5, Including 8YO Girl
Police are asking for people with any information about the incident to call them.

SYRACUSE, NY — A shooting Thursday night in Syracuse left five people injured, including an 8-year-old girl. Syracuse police said on Facebook they were called to the 1300 block of Midland Avenue around 9 p.m. Sept. 20 in regard to a call about shots fired.
On arrival to the scene, officers said there was a large crowd of people, and they found several individuals who were injured.
Five people with injuries were taken to Upstate University Hospital by AMR ambulances for treatment.

The victims ranges in age from 8 to 35. All are in stable condition, police said.

According to syracuse.com, the crowd had gathered to mark the death of a man who died of pancreatic cancer in hospice care.

While police have not released information about the number of shooters, one witness said there were at least 10 shots fired.
The shooting occurred at 1315-17 Midland Ave. which is where a 20-month-old child was shot in parked minivan in 2010, syracuse.com said, by a reputed member of the Bricktown gang.
Saquan Evans was sentenced to 25 years to life for the shooting, plus 15 years for weapons possession.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 315-442-5222. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
