400 block of Salina Street to open after month-long closure at the end of this week

The City of Syracuse Department of Water will close the intersection of S. Salina and Jefferson Streets to vehicle traffic beginning the evening of Monday, Oct. 19 as part of the ongoing road and infrastructure project on Salina Street.

Local traffic only will be permitted along W. Jefferson, from S. Clinton to S. Salina Streets and from S. Warren to South Salina Streets. The work in the intersection of Jefferson and S. Salina Street is scheduled to be completed no later than Friday, Oct. 30, dependent upon the weather.

Water service to residential and commercial properties on W. Jefferson Street is expected to be impacted once work commences. All property owners will be notified 24 hours in advance of any disruptions. Centro bus routes will operate according to marked detours.

The 400 block of S. Salina Street is expected reopen by Friday, Oct. 23. The continuation of the water main replacement project for S. Salina Street will begin in November 2020 on the 300 block.
