Tompkins Cortland Community College (BIZ) Phlebotomy Technician
Phlebotomy Technician Certification Program

Dryden, New York: Tompkins Cortland Community College in partnership with MK Education is pleased to announce the Fall 2019 Phlebotomy Technician certification program starting October 15, 2019.
This is a non credit entry level certification training program that prepares students to sit for the following certification exams.
- Registered Phlebotomy Technician ( RPT)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
- Phlebotomy Technician (PBT)
Externship: The training also entails a live externship that consists of up to 100 hours | Non compensated | consisting of 100 live blood draws and 30 capillary punctures.

Class Dates: 10/22/2019 - 2/4/2020 | Tuesdays | 5:30pm - 9:30pm
Externship Opens: 2/18/2020 - 4/18/2020 | Flexible schedules to be arranged independently between student and externship supervisor.
Tuition: $2,499 | Additional expenses to students related to externship onboarding may apply per externship site requests such as drug screen & background check | Books and supplies included in course fee. National exam fee not included.

Prerequisites: Be 18 years of age or older to be placed in an externship site or to take the certification exam. Have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Proficiency in vocabulary, comprehension, and math concepts . Many employers will require that you have suitable vision and hearing (normal or corrected), suitable psychomotor skills, hand-eye coordination, and finger agility, and be able to stand for an extended period of time.
