2021-22 School Budget Voters Guide: Tarrytown

Voters in the Tarrytown school district will be going to the polls Tuesday. Here's what you need to know.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Voters around Westchester County will be going to the polls Tuesday to approve their school district's budget, including the Tarrytown district.

Also on the ballot are elections for school board members and some other propositions.

In the Tarrytown school district, voters are being asked to approve an $83.8 million budget for the 2021-22 school year. That represents a budget increase of 2.8 percent and a 1.93 percent increase in the property tax levy.

There are two other propositions on the ballot:

  • One concerns the purchase of school buses and vehicles in the amount of $435,000.
  • The other allows the district to provide transportation for children in grades three to five who live more than 0.3 miles from their school in the amount of $150,750.

Three trustee seats are up for election. The candidates are Krista Barron, Cecelia Gordon and incumbent Michelle DeFilippis.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Sleepy Hollow residents will vote at W.L. Morse School and Tarrytown residents will vote at Washington Irving School.
