April virtual events at the Hudson Valley Writers Center

Readings, classes and events, all held virtually, at HVWC

April is National Poetry Month so we proudly offer poetry readings and classes, as well as other literary genres as well. Our April calendar features five free virtual readings, and numerous one-day and multi-week writing workshops and events.

April 7: Poetry Reading by Indran Amirthanayagam, Rebecca Morgan Frank, and Vijay Seshadri (via Zoom)

April 10: 10th Annual Westchester Poetry Festival featuring Reginald Dwayne Betts. Co-Sponsored by the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, this Zoom event will also feature readings by Leila Chatti, Aaron Coleman, Tyree Daye, Sean Singer, and Margo Taft Stever.

April 14: An evening of new fiction with Russell Banks & Sigrid Nunez (via Zoom)

April 21: Poetry reading by Elana Bell, Deborah Paredez, and C.Dale Young (via Zoom)

April 28: Mark Doty & Garth Greenwell read via Zoom from their latest acclaimed novels

CLASSES:

Several multi-week classes start soon as well, including Short Fiction with Beth Hahn, Monday Night Poetry with Justin Wymer, The Art of Dramatic Writing with William Bigelow, Poetry as Thought with Sean Singer, and Workshop in Pure Critique with Peter Bricklebank.

One day workshops are being offered in a wide range of subjects from experimental poetry to creative nonfiction.
