Coronavirus Closes Greenburgh Building Department Temporarily
No inspections will be taking place and no permits will be issued until the office reopens.
GREENBURGH, NY — The town of Greenburgh Building Department will be closed due to an employee's positive coronavirus test until Feb. 2.
Supervisor Paul Feiner said an employee of the department wasn't feeling well Monday and tested positive for the virus.
The last day the employee was working in the department was Friday.

Health department officials said anyone who had more than 15 minutes contact with the employee should be told to quarantine for 10 days from the last point of contact.
"As a result, Building Department employees are in self-quarantine and each will get tested," Feiner said.

The anticipated return date for the Building Department employees is Tuesday, Feb. 2
Feiner said support staff will continue working from home by answering the phones and responding to emails.
He said, unfortunately, no inspections will take place and no permits will be issued during the temporary period of shutdown.
