Edgemont Incorporation Committee To Try Again
This will be the third time residents of Edgemont have petitioned to become a village in the town of Greenburgh.

EDGEMONT, NY — Maybe this time Edgemont will become a village.
For the third time in five years, residents of Edgemont are preparing to collect signatures on petitions to incorporate as the seventh village in the town of Greenburgh, the Journal News reported.
The most recent drive for incorporation suffered a defeat in February when a four-judge panel in the state Supreme Court's Appellate Division rejected the second petition to hold a referendum.

The judges agreed with the town that the petition did not include an acceptable boundary for the village, because the submitted Greenville Fire District boundaries were in dispute.
Jeff Sherwin, the Edgemont Incorporation Committee chairman, told the Journal News the group intends to successfully incorporate even if it takes a few years.
