Flash Flood Warning Issued For Hudson Valley

More than an inch of rain has fallen already in parts of the region. Route 9W is closed in Newburgh.

A flash flood warning has replaced the advisory issued by the National Weather Service due to heavy rain across northern Westchester County, Rockland County and southern Orange County in the Hudson Valley.

Heavy rain has flooded Route 9W, closing all lanes at the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge.

At 2:14 p.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms, the NWS said. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
