Greenburgh Man Faces 15-Count Sexual Assault Indictment: DA
The charges include rape and strangulation, officials said.
GREENBURGH, NY — A Greenburgh man faces multiple felony charges stemming from a sexual attack of a woman in White Plains, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Friday. Sidney Crockett, 42, of Greenburgh was indicted Monday by a Westchester County grand jury.
The indictment charged him with the following:
- Two counts of first-degree rape, felonies
- Six counts of first-degree criminal sexual act, felonies
- Three counts of second-degree strangulation, felonies
- Two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, felonies
- Second-degree assault, a felony
- Criminal obstruction of breathing, a misdemeanor
Prosecutors said, on Oct. 10, Crockett repeatedly strangled and physically and sexually assaulted a woman in a White Plains home.

The two were known to each other and had been in a relationship.
After the attack, the woman when to a nearby hospital, police were notified and an investigation started.
