Kalmar Nyckel Sailing Up the Hudson River Thursday

The vessel is a reproduction of Peter Minuit's flagship.

If you are near the Hudson River during the day Thursday, you might be able to catch a glimpse of the Kalmar Nyckel, a reproduction of the flagship of Peter Minuit’s expedition in 1638.

Tania Savayan of the Journal News caught up with the boat and its crew when it was docked in Yonkers Wednesday, before it heads up to Newburgh Thursday.

She interviewed Sam Heed, the historian for the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation.
