MA Pair Caught With 6+ Pounds Of Heroin: Police
Authorities said the two Massachusetts residents are being held without bail.
TARRYTOWN, NY — Two Massachusetts residents were accused of having several pounds of heroin while traveling on the Thruway.
The New York State Police said a car was stopped on Interstate 87 in the village of Tarrytown Saturday for a vehicle and traffic violation.
A preliminary investigation found that neither the driver nor the passenger of the car had valid driver's licenses, police said.

While inventorying the car, troopers said they found about 6.18 pounds of heroin.
The driver, Andre S. Hickson, 35, of Springfield, Massachusetts, and his passenger, Marlene M. Gonzales, 39, of Westfield, Massachusetts, were taken into custody and processed at the Tarrytown barracks.

They were both charged with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felonies.
Hickson and Gonzalez were virtually arraigned in the Town of Greenburgh Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
They are both set to appear in the Village of Tarrytown Court May 19.
