GREENBURGH, NY — A new weekly farmers market will soon come to the Greenburgh Town Hall.

Supervisor Paul Feiner said the town board Tuesday approved a resolution authorizing the farmers market from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday.

The market will begin Sept. 2 and operate through Oct. 28, Feiner said.

"Greenburgh was the first community in Westchester to have a farmers market," he said, adding that it began almost 30 years ago.

Feiner said that market — on East Hartsdale near the Hartsdale train station — will continue.

"This new market will be enjoyed by residents and employees of the town," he said.

The resolution authorized the town supervisor to enter into a revocable agreement with Joseph Katona of Satori Unlimited LLC to operate the market with about 20 to 39 vendors. It will be situated in the rear portion of the town hall parking lot.

CORRECTION: This article has been modified from its original version to change the start date for the Greenburgh Town Hall farmers market. A town hall official said the contract has not yet been finalized so the start date is now Sept. 2.
