​Overhead Gantry Work Continues On Cuomo Bridge; Lanes To Close

The work will require overnight lane closures on the bridge

TARRYTOWN, NY — Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC is scheduled to continue overhead gantry work on the bridge this week and next week. The work will require overnight lane closures on northbound and southbound New York State Thruway (I-87/I-287) traffic lanes in the area.

Specific lane closure times are listed in the chart below.

Additionally, construction of the shared bicycle and pedestrian path continues.

On the bridge, TZC will continue to work on the northern side of the westbound span for the path’s overlooks.

At the Westchester Landing, construction continues at the storage building and visitor pavilion. Operations include installing electronics, lighting, fencing and gravel.

At the Rockland Landing, construction continues along the side path, near the path’s underpass at South Broadway and by the Exit 10 off-ramp from the northbound Thruway.

Additional work includes:

  • Installing fencing near bridge landings
  • Dismantling of the old bridge’s foundations, weather permitting
  • On-going testing of the bridge’s aesthetic lighting system
