Pedestrian Killed Crossing Bronx River Parkway

The town supervisor said this was the sixth pedestrian accident in recent months.

GREENBURGH, NY — A Greenburgh woman was killed Tuesday evening as she crossed the Bronx River Parkway in Greenburgh. Westchester County police said Sandra Dekoubia, 57, of Greenburgh, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police responded to the parkway shortly after 6:15 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a Lexus SUV.

The vehicle was traveling south in the left lane.

No charges were filed against the driver, who remained at the scene.

The County Police Accident Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident, a county spokesman said.
