Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued In Hudson Valley: UPDATE
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for several counties.

The National Weather Service has upgraded the severe thunderstorm watch issued earlier to a severe thunderstorm warning Monday. The warning is in effect until 4 p.m. for Orange, Putnam and northern Westchester counties.
Southern Westchester and Rockland counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 4:30 p.m.
At 2:59 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Bloomingburg to near Florida to Near Vernon Valley. They were moving east at 25 mph

The storms will be near Newburgh and West Point around 3:40 p.m. and near Peekskill around 3:55 p.m.
They will be near New City around 4 p.m.

Damage to trees and power lines can be expected.
And an urban and small stream flood advisory was issued for southeastern Ulster and central Dutchess counties until 10 p.m. Monday.
Heavy rain due to thunderstorms will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.

Parts of the Hudson Valley are under a severe thunderstorm watch. The National Weather Service issued the watch which is in effect until 10 p.m. Monday.
The severe thunderstorm watch includes Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
The forecast said that widespread rain with isolated thunderstorms is expected Monday and Monday night.
Damaging winds are the main threat, along with periods of heavy rain being possible.
A flash flood watch remains in effect until 8 a.m. Tuesday for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties.
