Sister Brigid Driscoll, RSHM, Dies At 84

She was formerly president of Marymount College in Tarrytown

TARRYTOWN, NY — Sister Brigid Driscoll, RSHM, died Oct. 29 in Tarrytown. She was 84.

Driscoll was a member of Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary for 62 years, and taught at Marymount College in Tarrytown from 1957 to 1964, according to the RSHM website.

She served as president of the college for 20 years.

After retirement, Driscoll represented the RSHM NGO at the United Nations for two years.

Until her recent illness, she worked with LifeWay, an anti-trafficking network, and taught mathematics in the Marymount Manhattan College degree program at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility.

A wake will be held from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Marymount Convent, 32 Warren Avenue in Tarrytown, with a vigil service following at 7:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at Marymount Convent. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, 50 Wilson Park Drive, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
