They travel to the Eastchester La Roja on Sunday, September 15.

2010 Girls Bandits played a strong game on Sunday versus the Pelham Mayhem. The first half began with great passing skills - the girls showing off new moves they learned over the summer in various soccer camps. Sabrina Graham in goal made 3 solid saves in the first half of the game. Marianna Patsch held the defense with some excellent clears, and Katie Yalmokas played a pivotal role in moving the ball around the field.

The first half of the game was strong on defense - Marley DeFilippis did a terrific job looking for openings and passing the ball up the field and Melodie Molina displayed great footwork beating opponents with her creative maneuvers. All in all, Pelham had 4 shots on goal the first half all which were answered by the Bandits. The Bandits' Mackenzie Linhart on offense had a clean shot on goal in the first half which was intercepted by the Mayhem goalkeeper.

The second half started strong on offence. Mila Gallagher in her first game with the Bandits demonstrated her speed and agility with the ball and showed great persistence and had an excellent shot on goal at the end of the game. Ada Chalfy continued to demonstrate ball control and deliberate passing and carried off two shots on goal, and Noa Levine took initiative with throw ins and got a few good touches on the ball! Natalia Hargrave on defense had several great clears and played her position spot on helping goaltender Molina in the second half ward off some of Pelham's shots. The end result was a 3-0 loss for the Bandits, but all in all a great effort was made by the entire team!

2010 Boys Shadows started the Fall 2019 season with the Tiger Tune-Up Tournament in White Plains this past Saturday. The boys had a bit of a slow start, falling short in the first game 2-0. In the second game, Elion Ashiru worked quickly to help secure a 1-1 tie. The boys gradually improved their passing skills and fired multiple shots on goal in the final game, a 2-2 draw with host White Plains that featured a nifty volley to goal by striker Denis Suqui. This is the first time the Shadows boys have faced off against Division 1 teams and they did a tremendous job winning ball possessions and slowing down speedy opponents. Joaquin Rodriguez and Leo Zohar were featured in goal throughout the tournament and fought hard for some really nice saves, getting their goalie groove back after a long summer.

In the league opener in Katonah on Sunday, the Shadows returned to the winning side, taking a 5-2 victory. Having suffered some blows the previous day at the tournament, the Shadows arrived ready for a fight. The beginning of the game saw an early tally for Somers against goalie Zohar. Ashiru answered back with two goals, one an impressive curve to the top corner. The entire team used this confidence to push through and answer Somers’ early rush. Impressive passing and play setups had the Shadows in the lead 3-1 at the half after spirited hustle and goal from Jayden Morocho. It was the first of two on the day for Morocho, who is new to the Shadows this year.

The second half of the game saw some fancy footwork from Nico Barbosa and an additional goal by Ashiru. The boys displayed continual teamwork and turned away repeated Somers attacks as Zohar dove to save several shots. One such shot got loose after the save, but Andrew Lucchetti sprang to the goal area to clear the ball, resulting in no score. Branden Wang (also new to the Shadows this year) held strong in defense as well and didn't let anything past him. Bobby Gonzalez had some great late shots on goal from the forward position.

This year, the Shadows will continue to work on improving their passing, teamwork and defense against the tougher Division 3 competition. Go Shadows!

2009 Girls Red Fury, coached by Katie McMahon and Jim McGovern, dominated during their season opener, winning 9-4 against Greenburgh United. The battling teams were evenly matched during the first half, taking turns landing shots. Sophia Cruz scored the first two goals of the season with lofted shots over the goalie’s head. Rachel Richardson scored due to beautiful passes between the offensive line of Rachel Richardson, Maeve Yox and Meghan McMahon. The first half ended with a score of 3-3.

During the second half, the Fury came out strong with strong defense by Kate Masters, Sophia Cruz, Swara Ketkar and new comers Samantha Taylor and Lauren Monachelli. The offense continued to move the ball well. Meghan McMahon successfully landed a goal with a full-body shot to the far post. Rachel Richardson scored again due to an amazing pass by Breanne Rodriguez, and Maeve Yox scored off a deflected shot on the goal. Maeve Yox scored a second time with an assist by Meghan McMahon. Rachel Richardson scored a third time and Breanne Rodriguez landed a goal squarely to bring the final score to 9-4.

Special recognition to goalies Grace McGovern and Maiyumi Marcus-Kanesaka for their amazing hard work. The Red Fury plays the North Salem Fighting Tigers next week in North Salem.

2009 Boys United, coached by John Patiño played on the road in Somers. The final score was 5-2 in United’s favor. At minute 5, Joseph Murillo scored the first goal of the season for United. After 4 minutes, Bobby Prisco scored the 2nd goal of the game. Julian Patiño scored 2 goals, one at the end of the first half and the second one in the second half. Mateo Patiño scored the 5th goal of the game at the end of the second half, closing a great game.

The United team will travel to the Harrison Rapids on Sunday.

2009 Boys Red Lions began their season at home against Lansdowne Yonkers Flames, playing to a 4-4 tie in a fast-paced and exciting game. The Red Lions are playing in Division 1 of their age group and are working hard to maintain premier level play. The Red Lions are coached by Brad Scheller and Nuno Andrade.

On Sunday, September 15, they will host the Port Chester Blues at Hackley School field at 12 noon.

2008 Girls Red Comets fell by a 4-0 score on their home opener against the Rye Stars. Next week, they travel to the John Jay White.

2008 Boys Fusion had a strong match against the Wolfgang T-Wolves. In the early stages of the game, Ian Papadopoulos sent a through ball from the left to Sebastian Londono for the first goal of the game. A few minutes later, quick, purposeful passes between Papadopoulos and Sean Mackiewicz set up Kieran Degen for a well-placed tap-in goal. Meanwhile, Edwin Dutan-Pillacella starting in goal had a couple of good saves, but then gave the goalie gloves to Pierce Davis. Fusion’s goal was kept mostly clear thanks to effective ball clearing from the defensive trio of Raul Socualaya, Shyam Manjanath and Dutan. In an offensive flurry, midway through the half, Mackiewicz had an amazing long shot and goal to make it 3-0. Soon after, Luke Tonaj scored a goal off an uncleared ball bouncing in the box. In the final minutes of the first half, Degen scored off a breakaway but Davis, who was otherwise excellent in goal, conceded to make the halftime score 5-1.

In the second half, goalie responsibilities were shared by Degen and Papadopoulos. Fusion’s offense came out fast, as Davis scored on a breakaway to make it 6-1. Numerous shots by Bruno Flores, Olin Keogh and Jaiden Brito were stopped by Wolfgang’s keeper or went just wide. Dylan Pasato, Flores and Manjanath were key to second-half defense. Midway through the second half, a high corner shot went past a leaping Papadopoulos to make it 6-2. Right before the whistle, Mackiewicz forced a Wolfgang own goal for a 7-2 finish.

Coaches Ken Mackiewicz, Michael Degen and George Papadopoulos were pleased with the effort the boys showed, in particular with the passing, pace and cohesiveness shown by a team with several new members. Fusion will host the New Rochelle Rockets on Sunday at 1:30pm at Hackley field.

2008 Boys River Sharks came away with a 2-0 home field win against the Shrub Oak Fusion. Coached by Ed Greenberg, Michael Glynn, and Gerardo Soto, the River Sharks will travel to Ossining’s Munay next week. Coming off a spring division championship, the River Sharks are playing in Division 2 of their age group.

2007 Girls Blaze, playing their first Premier level game, played well, but succumbed to the Rye Rock Stars in Rye, this past Sunday 1 - 0. The Blaze's strong offense, led by front line starters Sami Marvin, Gemma Fante and Lizzie Molina had several shots on goal in both the first and second halves, but various saves and shots that just missed kept the Blaze off the board. Strong midfield play by starters Kayla McGuigan, Penny McVey, and Meghan O'Hanlon, continuously challenged Rock Star dribblers and fed passes to the upfield strikers. Strong defensive play was maintained throughout by the Blaze, especially by Gabby "the Minister of Defense" Disney, Juliana Marvin and Zoey Murphy.

The game's sole goal came in the 17th minute when the Rock Stars had a breakaway after a turnover and goalie Emily Aridas advanced on the dribbler who was able to pass to her left and the second Rock Star striker netted the ball. Emily had a strong game with 14 saves, including several diving deflections to give her team a chance to tie the game.

Although the team was missing their young versatile defender/midfielder Ellie Fox, Coach John Sutherland and Assistant Coach Annette O'Hanlon had their 5 queens - Samantha Mendieta, Kimmy Molina, Jhoselyn Pugo, Daisy Star, and Lilly Wurster who joined the Blaze in WYSL games for the first time and all 5 young ladies played well. Samantha played well off the bench and showed she everyone she could advance the ball up the field; Kimmy was a true ball hawk; Jhoselyn displayed speed chasing loose balls; Daisy played a strong defense and midfield for her new team; and Lilly was able to successfully challenge several Rye attackers and in the second half showed her versatility, moving to the front line as a striker. The future looks bright for these new Blaze stars.

The Blaze's second chance at a Premier game victory will be next Sunday at home at Sleepy Hollow High School, against the John Jay Purple 2007 team. Blaze supports should arrive ahead of the 2:00 pm start time to cheer their team on.

2007 Boys Dynamo fell 8-2 on the road against the Manhattan Cosmos. Coached by Alberto Blanco, the Dynamo will have their home opener Sunday at 4:15pm at Washington Irving School against the FC Somers Galaxy.

2007 Boys Dutchmen had a great start to the fall season. Saturday, the Dutchmen played in a tournament in White Plains. With a great team effort the Dutch managed to shutout the three teams they played to come home with the 1st place trophy.

Sunday the Dutchmen took on the Briarcliff Beasts. It was a good team effort by all that made the Dutchmen come out on top with a 4-0 win. Goals were scored by Joey Barros (2), Nico Mayor & Conor Slattery.

The Dutchmen take on the Pelham Galaxy next week.

2006 Girls Storm fell in a 0-5 loss to the Quickstrike Patriots 2006 Blue at WI turf. The Storm had finished 6-1 in the spring season in their age group’s Division 3. They next meet Bedford Strikers at WI this Sunday.

2006 Boys Firebolts, coached by Matt Weidner, started with an impressive 7-1 win against Yorktown Impact. They return home to WI turf this Sunday at 12:45pm to meet the New Roc Revolution.

2006 Boys Warriors opened with a 2-1 win at SHHS turf. They face Don Bosco Hawks Thunder at WI turf next Sunday at 2:30pm.

2005 Girls Cyclones played their first game of the fall season against Mt. Pleasant Lady Wildcats. It was evident from the opening minutes how turf has revolutionized the game. Playing on grass for the first time in two years the Cyclones began to adjust, having to pass and shoot forcefully. Both teams had numerous scoring opportunities but they would walk off the field at the half tied 0-0. The Cyclones would continue to battle the Wildcats as the game remained tied until the last four minutes. The ball was played out of the back by Ywomie to the midfield. Thalia carried the ball to the left corner drawing most of the Wildcats defense crossing the ball to find Amy unmarked near the right post. Amy shot the ball scoring her first goal for the team! The Cyclones would hold on for the win 1-0. The Cyclones want to recognize new team member Lily for her physical play and her versatility on the field. Every team member made a contribution during this game and fought hard for the win.

2005 Boys Red Legends won their opener in the top Westchester premier division 5-1 over visiting New Rochelle. Most of the boys just started high school and now with extra school responsibilities and playing soccer for their school teams, several players are unable to play club soccer in the fall. Luckily SHFC had two strong 2005 teams, the Legends and the Red Devils, that coach Francisco Mendieta was able to merge into a premier squad. Coach Mendieta has the task of not only integrating two teams of teenage boys, but also making the jump to the premier division. The Red Legends were the first SHFC team to participate at the premier level and came away with an impressive win. Kenneth Suqui was too much for New Rochelle to handle and he scored first off of his own earned foul kick. Frank Mendieta led scorers with two goals as Kallen Fairley and Christopher Panjon each added a score. The Red Legends next face Portchester at Washington Irving field.

JV Boys Los Gauchos won 3-0 at home with 100% team attendance. Goals were scored by Zach, Julian, Braulin, based on assists by Jason, Eric, Owen. Congratulations to the Men of the Match: Alex, Adam, Owen, Eric, Sebastian, Nikolaj.
