Tarrytown To Begin Use Of Police Body Cameras

Initially, a small group of officers will be field testing the body cams before they are rolled out to the entire department.

TARRYTOWN, NY — The village of Tarrytown announced that its police will begin using body cameras while on duty.

In September 2020, the village's board of trustees approved the purchase of Axon 3 Body Cameras for use in the village police department.

The body cameras were said to be in use Monday, with a small group of officers field testing them prior to being rolled out to the entire department.

Village officials said, through this effort, Tarrytown joins a shortlist of communities in Westchester County that have active body camera programs.
