Tarrytown Schools To Hold Virtual 2021-22 Budget Hearing Thursday

Voters are being asked to approve an $83.8 million spending package for the next school year.

TARRYTOWN, NY — The Tarrytown schools will hold a virtual public hearing on the proposed 2021-22 budget.

The proposed budget is $83,837,109, up 2.8 percent from the current year's spending package.

School officials said the tax levy will go up 1.93 percent.

There are two other propositions on the ballot for voters to decide.

One concerns the purchase of school buses and vehicles in the amount of $435,000.

The other allows the district to provide transportation for children in grades three to five who live more than 0.3 miles from their school in the amount $150,750.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 18. Eligible residents of Tarrytown may vote in the Washington Irving School auditorium; eligible residents of Sleepy Hollow may vote in the W.L. Morse School cafeteria.
