Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow Hydrant Schedule Flushing
The main purpose of the hydrant flushing program is to test the hydrants to assure proper pressure for firefighting.
TARRYTOWN, NY — Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow residents should be aware that their villages will be flushing hydrants.
From 6 p.m. to midnight, Monday, May 17 through Saturday, May 22, the Village of Tarrytown Water Department will be flushing hydrants on all streets on the east side of South Broadway north of Prospect Avenue to Cobb Lane.
The main purpose of the hydrant flushing program is to test the hydrants to assure proper pressure for firefighting, village officials said.

In Sleepy Hollow, the hydrants are scheduled to be flushed from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday, May 24 through Friday, May 28.
It will involve all streets in the inner village including Webber Park and the vicinity of Sleepy Hollow Road. The locations include Philipse Manor, Sleepy Hollow Manor, Phelps Memorial Hospital and Regeneron.

Officials said flushing operations may result in temporary low water pressure.
Discolored water may also be experienced. If so, run your fixtures until the water is clear, usually 10 minutes.
It is recommended that clothes washing is delayed until the water is clear to avoid possible staining.
