11-Story Apartment Building To Replace Upper East Side Garage
The building will contain 21 apartments, with an average unit size of a little more than 1,410 square feet.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A developer has filed plans to build an 11-story, 21-unit apartment building on the site of a former parking garage on the Upper East Side. Building plans were filed with the city Tuesday to construct the new building at 427 E. 90th St. located between York and First avenues.
According to the building plans the new development will stand 115-feet-tall and contain 29,629 square feet of space — all of it zoned for residential use. The building will contain 21 apartments, with the average being a little more than 1,410-square-feet large, according to the plans.
Building amenities will include a ground-floor gym, a kids play room, a rooftop outdoor recreational space, a laundry room, bicycle storage and more, according to the building plans. Most of the floors will contain two or three apartments except for the top three floors, which will only contain one apartment each.

Ramy Issac of the firm Issac & Stern Architecture is listed as the architect for the development, according to plans filed with the city Department of Buildings.
Demolition plans for the existing five-story structure were filed in December. The building will be demolished with hand-held devices and a temporary plywood construction fence will be installed, according to the plans.
