11 Upper East Side Apartments Hit Lottery Starting Under $1,500

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Almost a dozen affordable apartments located on New York’s Upper East Side were made available this week through the city’s housing lottery and include a month’s free rent and free access to some attractive amenities with rent starting at less than $1,500 per month.
The 11 available units are being offered at the apartment complex located at 345 East 94th Street and would house between one and three residents. The newly renovated apartments are pet-friendly, include stainless steel kitchen appliances and hardwood flooring.
Three of the units are reserved for those making 90 percent of the area median income or $71,640 for a single person and $92,160 for a family of three while the remaining eight units are reserved for people making 100 percent of the AMI, which is $79,600 for a single person and $102,400 for a family of three.

Residents would also have access to a 5,000 square foot landscaped sun terrace with barbeque grills and a state-of-the-art fitness center, according to a listing on NYC Housing Connect.
Three of the units are studio apartments with a monthly rent of $1,472 per month, two units are studio apartments with a monthly rent of $1,643 and there are six one- bedroom apartments which have a monthly rent of $2,060.

Heat and gas are included in the rent and residents are responsible for gas used in the apartment. The building is anticipated to receive a partial tax exemption pursuant to Section 421-a(17) from the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.
There is no deposit required and no application fees. The deadline to apply is March 11.
