The Art of Illumination
Konstantin Gallery proudly presents an art exhibition by Angelica Verk

Angelica Verk
A world class talent hailing from St. Petersburg, Russia, Angelica Verk is currently in New York City presenting her most recent body of work titled, “Human Nature,” at Konstantin Gallery on the upper east side of Manhattan. A member of both the International Art Alliance (NY) and the Union of Artists (Russia), Verk is a graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts (BFA), St. Petersburg, and has spent the last 15 years as a painter, graphic designer, and costume designer. Her most notable credits include the projects “Russian Ark,” directed by the acclaimed contemporary filmmaker Alexander Sokurov, and the reproduction of the legendary Rimsky-Korsakov opera, “The Tale of Tsar Saltan,” at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
The work of Angelica Verk seamlessly integrates the traditions of “Russian Seasons” with an Art Deco visual style, and the results are nothing short of stunning. Fascinated by the architecture of New York City, the inspiration for her art comes from the interaction between human beings and their environment. Like most artists who gravitate to the Big Apple, she is constantly inspired by the people of New York: their style, ambitions, inspirations, contradictions, behavior, and how they’re influenced by the city itself. Verk’s ultimate goal is to showcase the interdependence between man, nature, and the urban. Her creative process combines her passion for painting, photography, printmaking and design. And her current work uses mixed media technique to combine acrylic glitter, metallic leaf, glass, cardboard, and/or canvas depending on the idea.

Human Nature
Konstantin Gallery is proud to present Ms. Verk's newest folio, "Human Nature," in their latest artist series titled, "The Art of Illumination." Inspired by the forms of nature and the human beings that are a part of it, Verk takes us on a dazzling journey of the Russian Orthodox tradition blended beautifully with the textured mosaic of NYC's concrete jungle and it's inhabitants. The art of Angelica Verk delicately asserts that man is not only a part of nature and its four elements: water, air, earth and fire but that we are also ever changing just like the elements themselves.
