Body Pulled From Central Park's Turtle Pond; 2nd In 2 Weeks: Police
An unidentified body was pulled from the pond near 79th Street Monday afternoon ? Central Park's second such incident in two weeks.

CENTRAL PARK ? A person's body was pulled from Turtle Pond in Central Park ? the second such discovery made in the park in the last two weeks, police said.
The unidentified body was found just before 4:30 p.m. in Turtle Pond, the small body of water above 79th Street near Belevedere Castle and the Delacorte Theater, an NYPD spokesperson said.
Police recovered the body from the water, but had no other information about the person's age or gender, the spokesperson said.

It was unclear whether the death was considered suspicious, but an investigation is ongoing, police said.
Videos posted to the Citizen app showed emergency personnel clustered along the shore of the pond.

Monday's discovery comes less than two weeks after a decomposed body was pulled from The Lake, not far away in Central Park.
