Cameron Koffman Reinstated to the Ballot

Cameron Koffman reinstated to the ballot in Upper East Side's historic assembly race.

As a high school student interested in pursuing a career in public service, it was disappointing to see my assembly member attempt to sue Mr. Cameron Alex Koffman off the ballot, but this victory defends the right to run for office for the younger generation I represent. Our Assemblyman vowed to appeal this decision, expecting the state’s highest court to affirm Judge Edmead’s ruling, but it’s important to note that his appeal was dismissed, solidifying Mr. Koffman’s reinstatement to the ballot. The result of this lawsuit is further evidence that a new generation of effective leadership is coming to Albany, ready to tackle the corruption that repeatedly attempted to keep us from participating in the political process. This verdict is a win for democracy, a win for students like myself, and an inspirational moment of change for the people of New York state.
