Demolition Plans Filed For Upper East Side Buildings
Four adjacent buildings on Madison Avenue between East 88th and 89th streets will be demolished.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Another Upper East Side development site is in the works, as developers have filed plans with the city Department of Buildings to demolish four adjacent buildings on the Upper East Side.
Real Estate Equities Corporation filed plans with the city to demolish 1228, 1230, 1232 and 1234 Madison Avenue — located between East 88th and 89th streets — late last year. The plans were all approved by the city Department of Buildings.
The existing sites are occupied by two one-story commercial buildings and two four-story mixed use buildings, according to demolition plans. The development firm told New York YIMBY, which first noticed the demolition plans, that it hasn't made a decision on what will replace the four existing structures.
