Natural and lasting beauty comes from within. The secret power that
we all have as humans, is that biologically, we are built in such a
way
that our bodies naturally heal themselves.
The only operation I’ll doon you is separate you from the clutter
you’ve
absorbed of photoshopped advertisements of “ideal beauty” and get
you
in touch with the natural earth, from which all the beauty
secrets emanate. (and all you will ever need to know). So stop
comparing
yourself to those images of perfection or other women. Just like
snowflakes,
we are all unique and there was never nor will there ever be another
one
of you. Got it?
We don’t need botox, laser treatments, or plastic surgery to be
beautiful.
Beauty is a constantly evolving state of mind. We need to engage in
the
natural elements which are free for all and are our birth rite. The
sun, the air,
water, flowers, trees and herbs, can all contribute to our beauty
both within
and without; we just need to embrace them.
As of late, with all the recent discoveries of allergies to gluten
and dairy,
there has been a resurgence of the idea that beauty is well-being.
The new
thoughts about whether our beauty products are vegan, or the seal of
approval that the products we use are organic and not tested on
animals,
shows a growing awakening of the need to know the origins of all our
products.
This is a good thing.
Throughout history, great women such as Queen Elizabeth I, Joan of
Arc,
and Hypatia (the first recorded female intellect from antiquity),
were deemed
as witches because of the power of their minds. Even Hillary Clinton,
the
the democratic nominee for President of the United States, received
chants
by Trump’s followers, “Lock her up!” over and over again. What
does this
say about the female mind? Shut up and look pretty? Not on my
watch!!!
In 2005, Richard Louv coined the diagnosis, “Nature deficit
disorder,” regarding
the human population of today. This could be responsible for the many
cases of depression, mental illness, and even obesity. For mental and
physical health, we need sunlight first of all. It’s been drilled
into us that
sunlight is dangerous and that you should slather sunscreen all over
yourself
before stepping out the door. We are told that sun causes premature
aging
and skin cancer, which can be fatal.
For mental and physical health, we need sunlight and the vitamin D it
gives off. Vitamin D strengthens our bones, teeth and nails. It
builds our
immune system, creates our circadian rhythm (so we know when to
sleep and when to rise). It helps with seasonal affective
disorder(SAD) and
other forms of depression. Wearing sunglasses prevents these benefits
because
the sunlight must enter through the eyes to do its work. We need to
immerse ourselves in the notion that sunlight helps all of life grow
and blossom. It is our friend, not the enemy.
All living matter needs water. Every cell in our body requires it.
Water cleanses our blood, aids our nervous system and eliminates
toxins and
waste. If damaged cells aren’t eliminated, they can start
reproducing
and form tumors, cancers and so on. Moist air is great for the skin.
When we are born we are about 80% water. This decreases as we get
older.
Millions of neurons act to induce digestive functions.
Neurotransmitters
in the brain contain seratonin which when activated brightens our
moods and
helps us sleep. Whereas low levels of seratonin lead to anxiety, lack
of
concentration and even effects the memory.
Most of the anti-bacterial products on the market don’t serve us
well.
The immune system needs bacteria which allows the
system to keep growing and evolving. Even the bacteria that live in
our body
does wonders for the immune system.
Holistically speaking, we must interact with nature more. The natural
environment that
include the sun, water, fresh air and earth beneath our feet, helps
restore our natural beauty.
They penetrate beneath the skin and aids our equilibrium. Natural
elements
are the best skincare there is. Just avoid chlorine and too much
sunscreen,
which prevents our skin pores from breathing.
Start depending on your body’s innate intelligence and have faith,
because bacteria
is also our friend. It balances our system and actually prevents our
body from rapidly aging. The following minerals and vitamins work
wonders on our general health and skin:
1. Vitamin C: A strong antioxidant that repairs damaged skin.
2. Omega 3: Balances hormones and promotes youthful skin.
3. Zinc: Repairs our skin through hormonal balance.
4. Vitamins B3 and B12: Reduce age spots.
5. Magnesium: Lights up cells from within
6.Vitamin E : An antioxidant, which slows aging (but make sure it’s
the real thing, not synthetic).
Regarding sun intake: studies show that people who work or play in
the
sun are less likely to get melanoma than those who spend most of
their
day inside. Sunlight has been proven to cure and prevent disease. And
for
mental health: it releases seratonin and enhances the flow of energy
in our body, giving us a sense of well-being. Lack of sunlight
diminishes
natural cell growth, it also releases our melatonin which makes us
feel
calm.
The main point about about perfumes and
deodorants is that today’s designer perfumes and drugstore
deodorants are made
from chemically dangerous ingredients. Stay away! Instead use
products
like baking soda on your underarms and explore essential oils as
perfumes.
They come in many varieties of scents extracted from plants and
flowers.
Again, trust your body’s wisdom to know which essential oil goes
best
with your own body’s scent. Choose something that lifts your mood,
or create
your own unique scent by mixing special combinations. Drugstore
deodorants
have been known for their negative effect on the lymph system. They
endanger
the glands in the armpits. Essential oils used as perfumes have
proven to be anti-fungal and anti-bacterial.
Lastly, bathing. The best holistic bath you can take is with
magnesium salts
and baking soda. By doing this, we absorb through our pores the much
needed
magnesium that our cells need for health. Also if you can go from hot
water
to cold water, there are great benefits. It increases blood
circulation, improves
oxygen intake and positively effects the digestive system.
A final word. Please be free from “idealized” beauty. You are
already a
creation from the divine realm. You are a part of nature, not
separate from it.
Nature is perfect in that it is divinely imperfect. Appreciate the
fact that you
are not separate from the sun, stars, moon, oceans, rainbows and
flowers.
You are a part of this cosmic experience called, “life.” The same
source that
makes the sun rise is the same source that brought you into being.
