Man Assaults Woman In UES Whole Foods, Police Say

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police asked for help this week identifying a man who allegedly groped a woman last week in a Whole Foods Market on the Upper East Side.

The assault happened around 4 p.m. on April 20, as the victim, a 52-year-old woman, was putting an object back on the shelf.

As she did so, she felt someone grab her thigh and genitals, then saw a man walking away, police said.

Police released surveillance images of the man on Thursday, apparently showing him checking out inside the same supermarket.

On Tuesday, April 20th at approx. 4pm, suspect sexually assaulted a victim inside of the Whole Foods Market, located at 1551 3rd Avenue on the Upper East Side.
