UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man robbed an elderly worker at an Upper East Side laundromat during an argument about the price of washing clothes, police said.
The unknown man entered the laundromat on East 65th Street between First and Second avenues and asked an 83-year-old worker about pricing, police said. During the conversation, the man "became irate" and grabbed the worker around the chest, police said.
When the robber had the man in his grasp, he reached into his shirt pocket and grabbed $100 in cash, police said. After snatching the money, the robber fled the laundromat and was able to avoid arrest.
