'Megamansion' Site Listed On Upper East Side: Report

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Three adjacent townhouses on an Upper East Side block are being marketed as the neighborhood's next "Megamansion" site, according to reports.

The three homes — 50, 52 and 54 E. 81st St. between Madison and Park avenues — have been listed for a combined $53.4 million, according to real estate publication The Real Deal. At a price of $2,516 per square foot the listing actually represents a bargain in the luxury townhouse market, The Real Deal reported.

Currently the townhouses are all owned and occupied by different people, but the neighbors saw value in offering their properties as a package deal, The Real Deal reported. The Upper East Side is currently a hotspot for combination townhouses. Megamansions have been built by neighborhood residents such as Madonna (on the same stretch of East 81st Street) and Michael Bloomberg, according to the report.

Each property is also being offered for individual sale, The Real Deal reported.
