Museum Of The City Of NY To Close After 'Plumbing Malfunction'
The malfunction, which affects multiple floors of the Fifth Avenue museum, will force it to close for about a month starting next Monday.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The Museum of the City of New York will be forced to close for about a month starting next week to repair its building following a plumbing problem, the museum announced Tuesday.
"Unfortunately, due to a plumbing malfunction that has impacted multiple floors, but which thankfully did not affect any collections objects or loans, the Museum will need to close for necessary building repairs beginning on Monday, January 11," museum president and director Whitney W. Donhauser wrote in an email.
No art or artifacts were damaged, and the repairs are expected to wrap up in mid-February, Donhauser said.
